The star midfielder Played in a high spot on the right and contributed with the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance but mishit an attempt high. Withdrawn in the closing stages for a teammate, his rival, after being booked. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his strike smartly stopped from Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate holding position, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side but his crosses from wide areas were hit and miss. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. 6/10
