President Trump Calls Families of Shot Military Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that educators hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy led the administration to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she also intended to visit the family.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
