The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a highway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his loved ones, and all those touched by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
